금속 규소는 페로실리콘, 탄화규소, 실리카, 실리콘 수지 및 폴리실리콘과 구별된다. 알루미늄 주조에는 GB/T 2881 등급, Fe/Al/Ca 한도, 입도 및 목표 합금 확인이 필요하며, 실리콘 수지 또는 폴리실리콘 공정에는 합의된 B, P, C, Ti 및 기타 미량 원소, 반응성, 로트 COA가 추가로 필요하다. 시장명 421, 441, 553은 검색 별칭이며 정식 SKU/TDS와 대응하기 전에는 보증값이 아니다. 일반 제강의 규소 첨가 또는 탈산에는 보통 페로실리콘을 사용한다. 분말, 3N/4N, 태양광급, 전자급 및 배터리급은 이 일반 페이지의 기본 공급 범위에 포함되지 않는다.

산업용 규소는 일반적으로 석영과 탄소계 환원제를 잠호 전기로 또는 전용 전기로에서 탄소열 환원한 다음 레이들에 출탕하여 정련하고, 주조, 냉각, 파쇄, 선별 및 시험을 거쳐 상업용 괴상 또는 과립 제품으로 만든다. 원료 배합, 노 및 정련 방식은 생산자마다 다르다.
