QUICK DECISION

Four answers before reading the technical detail

This section supports initial screening; final grade, addition and effects require operating conditions, formal documents and plant validation.

01

What it is

An aluminium-base master-alloy family with Si as the main alloying element, used for aluminium-melt charge make-up or Si adjustment. It is not the Fe-based steelmaking silicon-aluminium alloy FA-SIAL.

02

What it does

  • Silicon adjustment in aluminium melt
  • Aluminium-alloy charge make-up
  • Al-base master-alloy identity governance
03

Where it fits

  • Charge make-up or chemistry adjustment after the melting and dross practice is stable
04

Boundary not to miss

  • Mismatched grade, impurities, temperature or dissolution can cause chemistry excursions, segregation, inclusions or melt loss

SELECTION BOUNDARY

Start with the selection boundary

Similar names, forms or uses do not make products interchangeable; confirm product identity, specification, application process and order documents separately.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

An aluminium-base master alloy is generally made from verified aluminium melt, silicon feed and permitted returns by controlled melting and alloying, followed by supplier-specific melt treatment, sampling, casting into ingot or another form and lot testing. The actual furnace, temperature, fluxing, degassing and filtration practice must come from manufacturer documents; this page is not a description of a Jinsheng-owned line.

  1. 01Similar names, forms or uses do not make products interchangeable; confirm product identity, specification, application process and order documents separately.
  2. 02Verify aluminium melt, silicon feed, returns, fluxes and tool identity and cleanliness
  3. 03Follow the manufacturer's controlled melting, silicon addition, dissolution and homogenisation practice
  4. 04Clean, degas or filter by the actual route and sample representatively
  5. 05Cast, cool and identify, then test chemistry, inclusion risk, form and pack

SPECIFICATIONS & PACKAGING

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

Similar names, forms or uses do not make products interchangeable; confirm product identity, specification, application process and order documents separately.

  1. 01The specification centres on the Al matrix and Si, with Fe, Cu, Mg, Mn, Zn and other limits, ingot/granule/lump form, surface, inclusions and pack fixed for the target aluminium alloy.
  2. 02Confirm an aluminium-base Al-Si master alloy and the supplier's formal grade
  3. 03Fix the Al matrix, Si content and limits for Fe, Cu, Mg, Mn, Zn and other elements
  4. 04Confirm ingot, waffle, granule or lump form plus piece size, surface and inclusion control
  5. 05Confirm dry pack, label, TDS, SDS, sampling rules and lot COA

GRADES & SPECIFICATIONS

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

ORDER SPECIFICATION CONFIRMATION

What must be confirmed before this becomes an order specification

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

  1. 01Confirm the product, grade, application and supply scope
  2. 02Fix guaranteed chemistry, sizing, form and packing in the quotation and order
  3. 03Agree sampling, test methods, acceptance rules and lot COA fields
  4. 04Confirm the required TDS, SDS/PSI, labels and delivery documents

SELECTION AND COMPARISON

Compare specification directions by indicators and operating conditions

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

INDUSTRY APPLICATION

Industry, furnace, material and addition point

Confirm the process position before method and quantity calculations; an application relationship for one furnace or material must not be copied to another.

01

Aluminium casthouses and foundries

Charge make-up or chemistry adjustment after the melting and dross practice is stable

Furnace / equipment
Aluminium melting/holding furnace or a process-approved transfer ladle
Material / output
Aluminium melt with known grade, initial Si and controlled Fe/Na/Sr and other elements

APPLICATION METHOD

Application method and effect validation

For aluminium melting and casting, make a mass balance from initial and target Si, melt mass, return and scrap carry-in, measured lot Si and site recovery. Keep tools and product dry, ensure complete dissolution under compatible temperature and stirring conditions, and resample. No fixed dose or effect claim applies across alloys, furnaces and product forms.

  1. 01For silicon addition or Si adjustment in aluminium melting and casting, include returns, scrap, other master-alloy carry-in and measured lot Si in the mass balance.
  2. 02Confirm target aluminium alloy, initial and target Si, melt mass and limiting elements
  3. 03Deduct return and scrap carry-in and calculate addition from the lot COA and site recovery
  4. 04Select a dry form and dissolve and mix within the approved temperature, sequence and stirring window
  5. 05Resample to verify Si, accompanying elements, inclusions/dross, structure and casting performance
  6. 06Validate complete dissolution, chemical homogeneity, inclusions/dross, as-cast structure and final performance; dissolution rate or fixed recovery must not be inferred from the product name.

PROBLEM AND SOLUTION

From operating objective to effect verification

Each application explains the role, method, quantity principle and risk boundary; the final proposal is confirmed against operating conditions and lot documents.

Method
Select a confirmed aluminium-silicon master-alloy form from lot chemistry, target alloy, melt temperature and dissolution conditions, then dissolve, mix and resample.
Quantity determination
Mass-balance Si and associated elements separately after deducting charge and return-metal carry-in. Use only lot measurements and site-validated recovery; this page publishes no fixed addition rate.
Expected effects
  • Adjusts Si in aluminium melt under a validated melting practice
Limits and risks
  • Mismatched grade, impurities, temperature or dissolution can cause chemistry excursions, segregation, inclusions or melt loss

STORAGE & SAFETY

Storage, handling and risk

  • Keep dry and lot-segregated and prevent mix-ups; dust, fume and hot-metal charging controls must follow the SDS/PSI for the actual form and plant procedures.
  • Without a formal SKU, TDS, SDS/PSI and lot COA, no chemistry, grade, sizing, pack, stock, dose, recovery or performance is promised.

This section does not replace the company's final SDS/PSI or the plant safety procedure.

REFERENCE AND ORDER BOUNDARY

Use industry references to understand, then order documents to confirm

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

DOCUMENTS & MEDIA

Images, TDS, SDS and COA

Document availability depends on the product, lot, destination market and order agreement.

TDS

Confirms product identity, guaranteed indicators, sizing, form and packing.

SDS / PSI

Confirms storage, handling, protection and market-specific safety information.

COA

Links a specific lot to test items, results, methods and issue information.
