Start with the selection boundary

Tundish cover is not mould flux, ladle cover or synthetic refining slag; the generic name covering powder does not permit cross-location use.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

Formulation and manufacturing route for casting powders depend on the specific product. A general route may include mineral, fluxing and carbonaceous feed review, metered blending and—according to the supplier route—raw-material, premelted/fused-and-crushed, spray-granulated or another verified process, followed by homogenization, screening, physical-property testing and moisture-protected packing. Different use locations must retain separate product identities.

APPLICATION METHOD

Use scenarios, method, effect and risk validation

After tundish receipt and level stabilization, apply an even designed layer matched to the impact zone, working lining, stopper/slide gate and clean-steel requirements. A qualified system can lower surface temperature loss and air contact and support inclusion control; acidity/basicity, melting or lining mismatch can entrain slag, crust, contaminate steel or disturb nozzle flow. Verify with temperature-loss, inclusion, level and nozzle records; it is not mould flux.
