Calcined-mineral products generally pass through quarry and chemistry review, crushing and screening, controlled calcination, cooling, finished sizing, reactivity/calcination-state and chemistry testing, and moisture-protected logistics. Kiln type, temperature schedule, fuel and specific controls belong to the actual manufacturer's documentation and are not assumed here.

A light-burnt dolomite specification must state feed mineral, CaO/MgO and limiting constituents, loss on ignition, light-calcined/reactivity state, moisture, sizing, fines, degradation, storage life and pack. Natural-dolomite data cannot replace the calcined-product TDS; the page assumes no calcination temperature, reactivity value or shelf life, all of which require actual process and lot documents.

APPLICATION METHOD

Use scenarios, method, effect and risk validation

Light-burnt dolomite can provide a more reactive CaO/MgO source in reviewed BOF, EAF or ladle slag systems. Trial it against lot chemistry, reactivity/burn state, target MgO, lining and storage age. Qualified dry material can help establish an MgO-bearing slag faster; hydration, overburning or ageing can cause caking, degradation and lower reactivity. Do not replace natural dolomite or lime at a fixed ratio.
