Rare-earth cored wire

Rare-earth cored wire is a family name that still requires its core carrier to be specified. Ce/La misch metal, rare-earth ferrosilicon and other carriers cannot share one specification; selection requires the steel grade, O/S state, target residual RE and inclusion route.

QUICK DECISION

Four answers before reading the technical detail

This section supports initial screening; final grade, addition and effects require operating conditions, formal documents and plant validation.

01

What it is

Rare-earth cored wire is a family name that still requires its core carrier to be specified. Ce/La misch metal, rare-earth ferrosilicon and other carriers cannot share one specification; selection requires the steel grade, O/S state, target residual RE and inclusion route.

02

What it does

  • Rare-earth microalloying or inclusion engineering after carrier and grade confirmation
  • Control addition point, depth and sequence through wire feeding
  • Close the loop against the actual core, wire, equipment and lot
03

Where it fits

  • Ladle-treatment stage after steel analysis and deoxidation conditions are established
04

Boundary not to miss

  • Rare-earth recovery strongly depends on O/S; excess addition or unsuitable carrier can increase inclusions, and this product must not be confused with RE-MgFeSi nodularizing wire

SELECTION BOUNDARY

Start with the selection boundary

A cored-wire product name is not a complete supply specification. The formal SKU/TDS must fix core chemistry and carrier, sizing/moisture, diameter and tolerance, steel-strip material/thickness/seam, core mass per metre and uniformity, joints, coil mass, pack, SDS/PSI and lot COA; third-party example data are not Jinsheng guarantees.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

Cored wire is generally made through reviewed core preparation, sizing and moisture control, cold-rolled-strip forming, metered filling, seaming, coiling and inspection. This is a general industry illustration, not Jinsheng's own line or a named supplier process.

  1. 01Verify core identity, chemistry and safety documents
  2. 02Control core sizing, moisture and uniformity
  3. 03Form the steel strip, meter the core and close the seam
  4. 04Inspect diameter, core mass per metre, joints and leakage
  5. 05Coil, identify, sample and moisture-protect the pack

SPECIFICATIONS & PACKAGING

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

The specification must separate core chemistry from calculated whole-wire chemistry and define sizing/moisture, diameter and tolerance, strip material/thickness/seam, core mass per metre and variation, coil mass, joints, pack, TDS, SDS/PSI and lot COA together.

  1. 01Fix the formal core grade, carrier and test method
  2. 02Confirm sizing, moisture and core mass per metre
  3. 03Confirm diameter, strip, seam and joints
  4. 04Confirm coil, pack, label and lot documents

GRADES & SPECIFICATIONS

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

ORDER SPECIFICATION CONFIRMATION

What must be confirmed before this becomes an order specification

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

  1. 01Confirm the product, grade, application and supply scope
  2. 02Fix guaranteed chemistry, sizing, form and packing in the quotation and order
  3. 03Agree sampling, test methods, acceptance rules and lot COA fields
  4. 04Confirm the required TDS, SDS/PSI, labels and delivery documents

SELECTION AND COMPARISON

Compare specification directions by indicators and operating conditions

INDUSTRY APPLICATION

Industry, furnace, material and addition point

Confirm the process position before method and quantity calculations; an application relationship for one furnace or material must not be copied to another.

Steelmaking plants

Ladle-treatment stage after steel analysis and deoxidation conditions are established

Furnace / equipment
BOF, EAF, LF/VD/VOD ladle refining and pre-casting treatment equipment
Material / output
Dedicated steel with a defined RE carrier, O/S state and target residual RE

APPLICATION METHOD

Application method and effect validation

Before field use, confirm melt grade and initial chemistry, target net increase, temperature, slag, feeder, addition point, core mass per metre and historical recovery; trial-feed and resample before fixing speed, depth, total length and stop criteria.

  1. 01Confirm melt, target and prohibited conditions
  2. 02Make the mass balance from measured chemistry and core mass per metre
  3. 03Check the feeder and set the trial-feeding window
  4. 04Feed under the process card and control the reaction
  5. 05Resample, verify and confirm stop criteria

PROBLEM AND SOLUTION

From operating objective to effect verification

Each application explains the role, method, quantity principle and risk boundary; the final proposal is confirmed against operating conditions and lot documents.

01

Steelmaking plants

Ladle-treatment stage after steel analysis and deoxidation conditions are established

Furnace / equipment
BOF, EAF, LF/VD/VOD ladle refining and pre-casting treatment equipment
Material / output
Dedicated steel with a defined RE carrier, O/S state and target residual RE
Method
First confirm the formal core grade, chemistry, sizing/moisture, diameter, steel strip, core mass per metre and joints; then establish speed, depth and stop criteria from melt analysis, temperature, feeder and a trial-feeding plan.
Quantity determination
Calculate from initial melt value, target net increase, measured core chemistry, core mass per metre and plant recovery, then close by resampling; no fixed kg/t or m/s is published without furnace, grade and equipment context.
Expected effects
  • Rare-earth microalloying or inclusion engineering after carrier and grade confirmation
Limits and risks
  • Rare-earth recovery strongly depends on O/S; excess addition or unsuitable carrier can increase inclusions, and this product must not be confused with RE-MgFeSi nodularizing wire

STORAGE & SAFETY

Storage, handling and risk

  • Keep dry, moisture-protected and rust-protected, preventing powder leakage, wire breakage and loose coils; inspect appearance, joints, identity and pack integrity before handling and feeding.
  • The core may present dust, combustion, reactivity, fume or melt-splash risks; operate only under the actual SKU SDS/PSI, equipment procedure and destination rules.

This section does not replace the company's final SDS/PSI or the plant safety procedure.

REFERENCE AND ORDER BOUNDARY

Use industry references to understand, then order documents to confirm

Supply specifications, packaging, lead time and quality documents are subject to the formal quotation and order confirmation.

DOCUMENTS & MEDIA

Document availability depends on the product, lot, destination market and order agreement.

TDS

Confirms product identity, guaranteed indicators, sizing, form and packing.

SDS / PSI

Confirms storage, handling, protection and market-specific safety information.
