SELECTION BOUNDARY

Start with the selection boundary

A ladle-slag deoxidizer targets top slag and is not equivalent to aluminium deoxidizer, ferrosilicon, silicomanganese or another alloy used directly to deoxidize steel.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

This functional powder or granule family has no single production route representing every supplier. A general commercial workflow may include feed-identity and safety-document review, drying and classification, metered blending to a verified formula and—where applicable to the actual product—granulation, briquetting, premelting or another treatment, followed by screening, representative sampling, lot testing and moisture-protected packing. This general workflow is not presented as Jinsheng-owned production.

SPECIFICATIONS & PACKAGING

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

A ladle-slag deoxidizer specification must declare effective reductant constituents, carrier/slag-forming constituents, principal oxides, limiting residuals, moisture, sizing, melting and reaction behaviour, form, pack and lot testing, together with the applicable top-slag system. Aluminium-based material is only one possible route; an unverified formula cannot carry fixed indicators, and steel-bath deoxidizer specifications cannot be copied to slag deoxidizer.

APPLICATION METHOD

Use scenarios, method, effect and risk validation

Use in BOF/EAF tapping ladles or LF to lower top-slag oxidation. Add in batches from carryover-slag mass and initial FeO/MnO condition, target top slag, effective lot reductant constituents and stirring capacity. A matched system can lower reoxidation driving force; excess, rapid reaction or slag incompatibility can cause splash, inclusion changes and lining attack. Verify steel and slag separately; it cannot replace aluminium, silicomanganese or ferrosilicon deoxidation of the bath.

Method
After confirming carryover slag, steel deoxidation practice and target top slag, add in batches with adequate stirring and verify steel and slag samples separately.
Quantity determination
