Start with the selection boundary

Ladle covering compound is not tundish cover, mould flux or synthetic refining slag; the use point, melting behaviour and cleanliness requirements differ.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

This functional powder or granule family has no single production route representing every supplier. A general commercial workflow may include feed-identity and safety-document review, drying and classification, metered blending to a verified formula and—where applicable to the actual product—granulation, briquetting, premelting or another treatment, followed by screening, representative sampling, lot testing and moisture-protected packing. This general workflow is not presented as Jinsheng-owned production.

SPECIFICATIONS & PACKAGING

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

The specification should distinguish insulating, absorbent or combined ladle-covering material and define the principal mineral/oxide system, bulk density, spreadability, melting/sintering behaviour, moisture, dust, sizing, ladle-slag/lining compatibility, pack and lot tests. Cover depth, conductivity or temperature-loss effect must not be quantified without actual TDS and trials.

APPLICATION METHOD

Use scenarios, method, effect and risk validation

After ladle receipt or between refining stages, spread evenly according to bath area, target cover layer, residence time and downstream operations. A matched material can reduce surface heat loss and air contact; an incompatible formula or localized deep pile can crust, entrain slag, contaminate steel and obstruct slag/nozzle operations. Verify with ladle temperature loss, surface condition and cleanliness data; it cannot replace tundish cover or mould flux.

Method

  • Keep sealed and dry, prevent pack damage and dust release, and follow splash-control and personnel-exclusion procedures above a hot ladle.
