Start with the selection boundary

Ferroboron is a trace alloying material, not a general deoxidizer; bulk material and ferroboron cored wire require separate management by B input, carrier and feeding equipment.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

Feeds and smelting routes for special ferroalloys vary by alloy system and producer and may use electric-furnace reduction, metallothermic reduction or another route verified by standards/supplier documents. Commercial preparation generally includes feed review, controlled reaction or smelting, slag/metal separation, casting/cooling, crushing/screening, representative sampling and lot testing. The page does not assume Jinsheng owns such a line.

A ferroboron specification must use GB/T 5682—2015 and actual supplier documents to fix B and the iron matrix and control C, Si, Al, P, S, N and other microalloy-steel-sensitive residuals. It must also define form, sizing and homogeneity for trace metering, pack, sampling and COA. The page assumes no B content, fixed dose or effective-boron fraction.

APPLICATION METHOD

Ferroboron is only for steels with a boron-microalloy design and is added in trace amounts after reviewing O/N/Ti/Al, adequate deoxidation and heat treatment. Use a mass balance from steel mass, target B, measured lot B and site recovery. Controlled effective boron can support hardenability or microstructure design; excess or poor O/N control can deactivate boron, form brittle phases or segregate. Verify total/relevant effective-boron indicators, structure and performance; it is not a general deoxidizer.
