SELECTION BOUNDARY

Start with the selection boundary

Chromium silicon alloy is not an automatic substitute for ferrochrome, chromium metal, ferrosilicon or two separate elemental feeds. Confirm target Cr/Si, carbon and impurity budgets, oxygen potential, slag and addition point; a standard does not establish company stock, and no grade, chemistry or use result is promised without a formal SKU/TDS/COA.

PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Product manufacturing process

Chromium-silicon alloy must be produced to the applicable standard and the supplier-declared actual route; neither the product name nor appearance establishes the feed, furnace or smelting practice. A general quality workflow covers verification of feeds and route, smelting and refining to manufacturer documents, tapping, forming and cooling, crushing and screening, homogenisation, representative sampling and lot testing. Supplier process documents must support every specific operation.

SPECIFICATIONS & PACKAGING

Grades, specifications, indicators and packaging

The formal chromium-silicon specification is jointly governed by the applicable standard, supplier TDS and purchase agreement. It must at least fix Cr, Si and the Fe matrix, with agreed C, P, S and other application-specific restricted elements, lump sizing, fines, packing and sampling method. A family name or web illustration does not replace the formal grade, test methods and lot COA.

APPLICATION METHOD

Application method and effect validation

Chromium-silicon alloy may provide chromium and silicon together or serve as a process feed in an approved metallurgical route; the actual use depends on the formal grade and plant practice. Cr and Si must be mass-balanced separately from initial and target melt chemistry, charge carry-in, measured product values and site recoveries. The element that first reaches its chemistry limit sets the maximum addition; no furnace-independent fixed dose is used.
